Tennessee man dies while diving off Key West
KEY WEST, Fla. (AP) — Authorities say a Tennessee man on vacation with his wife and 10-month old baby has died while diving offshore of Key West. Tennessee doctor dies diving the 'Vandenberg'
A doctor from Tennessee died in a diving accident Thursday, apparently while fighting a speared fish on the Vandenberg shipwreck. Ollie Smithwick, 39, an anesthesiologist at the Cookeville (Tenn.) Regional Medical Center, was diving off a private boat with two friends on a spearfishing trip off Key West.
